The original concept behind O-Pro began life as an academic research project at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.

At Atlantic Bow (the original company behind O-Pro, now called Evolve O-Pro Limited) we worked on the development of a range of compliance software and digital resource products for the certification, management and control of quality relating to the environmental, health and other regulations affecting the products of aquaculture in general. Assisted by an innovation grant from the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department under the EU Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) programme, the project had the working title "AquaManage".

This project involved innovative use of well-proven technologies and was independently and positively assessed by Professor John McCall, Director of IDEAS Research Institute, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. It was clear that further research could lead to powerful, interesting and challenging innovative developments using the same technologies that could have a range of useful applications in the legal, business, commercial and educational worlds.

The successful development of the O-Pro prototype provides the development team at Evolve O-Pro Limited with the potential and the incentive to develop a wide range of complementary powerful applications.

I can see O-Pro totally transforming how we work.
